I don’t need a tester of any sort. When I’m having problems starting or holding a charge, I temporarily put in a good battery and if everything is good I know the battery is bad. If the good battery doesn’t solve the problem, time to do some trouble shooting. Simple. Not rocket science folks.
Never go to a dealer to replace a battery or tires. Their are specialty stores for those things, and places like Costco if one is a member. So you don’t need a battery tester, just stay away from dealers for car repairs to the extent possible.
