Razor MX650 Hydro Conversion Part 1 | Installing the ZOOM Hydraulic Brakes with Bigger Rotors

Since I’ve modified my Razor MX650 to go over 30 MPH, the brakes have gotten less and less effective. These higher levels of speed demand a stronger set of brakes than the factory cable brakes.

2 years late, but I do want to mention that I thought i didn’t need new rotors until I saw this video. I asked chat gpt (AI) how to do it without buying new rotors but I found this solution (i figured this out): take a flat head screw driver and press each pad into its socket so it opens the gap a little bit, then squeeze it on the rotor. It’s tight but it works. Then use the stock mounting screws with the calipers. Do note that the pads are really wiggly so you might have to do it a few times. Thanks for reading this to the end, and if you need any help ask me anytime!

  2. are you still using the same brakes? i have a 48v 2000w kit and i want reliable budget brakes. how good are they and did they last for long?

  3. Great channel for references for projects, thanks man

  4. I am having such a hard time mountain electric and co.’s stuff to the mx 650 right now. I bought everything the V2 forks, sing arm extensions,10″ super motos, 5000w ulatmite kit with a 76 v battery, both 4 piston hydro brakes & RAZOR/ ETM hydro brakes, yet I’m still having trouble mounting the front and rear brake as it’s not working with spacing, rotor won’t align with the pads, I’m beyond confused and I’ve spent quite a bit and saved up for a while

  5. How did you install the front brake on the right hand side and still have the “zoom” face up ?. I got the same brakes from your link and when I went to install the front brake it’s for the left hand side not the right 🤔
