Drilled /Slotted vs Standard Rotors! #shorts

#vividracing #carparts #carknowledge #brakes #rotors
you’re wanting to do some “spirited driving” like racing, drifting, sliding tracking, anything other than driving 5mph under the speed limit, you’ll want to get yourself some slotted or drilled rotors.

Slotted or drilled rotors will allow your brakes to stay cool during some heavy driving. The slots and holes in these rotors allow for air to flow easier through the vents on the inside of the rotor, as well as push and brake dust out, rather than keeping it on the face of the rotor.

The downside to slotted or drilled rotors is that they will wear out quicker than a standard rotor. These kinds of rotors will grind your brake pads down more because the fractional scraping of the pad on the edge of the slot or hole will compound over time. Or you’re just braking like a maniac.

Now Standard or plain (insert hot dog picture) are the perfect option if you’re someone like me who owns a grandma car. Standard rotors will last longer but the performance drops a good amount. They don’t allow for brake dust to shed as easily, and there is less air flow going through the rotor for cooling down.
So the more pressure you put on standard rotors and start shredding on them, the more you’re going to warp or break the rotors or cause damage to the brake pads.

Hope you learned something!

Would u recommend for a ride share driver

  2. For the ones that say there shit and race car divers don’t use them u r all wrong i race and all way use them u need them or the rotors will warp and get heat craks in them. >>>Yes, many professional and amateur race car drivers and teams use slotted rotors because they provide a better, more consistent braking performance by removing brake dust, gas, and water from between the pads and rotors, which helps prevent brake fade. While slotted rotors can wear brake pads faster and potentially increase noise, their ability to maintain optimal pad-rotor contact and dissipate heat makes them the preferred choice for high-performance driving and competition vehicles<<< but if u get shit rotors ya there r not made as good and more for looks u need to get hi end rotors not cheap slotted rotors and theres is lots of them on like Amazon shit slotted rotors that r just for looks really

  3. “Drilled” holes crack much easier…..brakes casted with holes in the manufacturing process do not break nowhere as easily

  4. Want to know why my pads n rotors last 60k plus on low end parts…..

We were taught never brake on interstate unless it’s a emergency. Now everyone all day long I see the dummy pedal lights like it’s a Xmas display.
Then complain my pads only lasted 10 kk….. Yes thats a you problem not the part manufacturer

  5. I drive slotted dimpled rotors daily and love them. I do deliveries with my Grand caravan , sometimes heavy loads so the extra break performance is great
